Prepare a face-first composition
A front or gentle three-quarter portrait gives the model enough detail in both eyes. Sunglasses, heavy bangs and a face cropped at the eyebrow make the requested change harder to inspect.
Choose how much anime styling you want
A mild version keeps the original photographic face with illustrated eye detail. A stronger version redraws the portrait as anime. State which you want so a small eye edit does not accidentally become a complete character redesign.
Keep the eye shapes usable
Ask for matching pupil direction and clean eyelid contours. A star can be a highlight motif inside each iris; it does not need to replace the entire eye or block the gaze.
Review the edit
Check the pupils, eyelids and direction of the gaze as a pair. Compare hair edges and mouth shape against the original too: a strong eye effect should not hide an unrelated face change.
